- Key Facts:
- In October 2006, we were awarded the £363 million rail contract in a joint venture with Carillion to create the new East London Line.
- This first of two phases will extend the existing line to Dalston Junction in north London and to New Cross, Crystal Palace and West Croydon in south London.
- The contract involves complex railway works including track, signalling, telecommunications and electrification.
- The civil engineering works include the construction of two large new bridges, new stations and a new depot at New Cross Gate.
- The new line will play a major role in transporting people to and from the 2012 Olympic Games.
